1. well you could just reset the router and then maybe it will correct the error or else you can refer to the user manual about securing ur router
2. Not familiar with routers myself as I don't have one.
Does it have a switch on the outside to choose settings?
3. -First make sure you're connected to router...Start-run-cmd-ipconfig
Make sure you got an IP and gateway from the router.
-Then ping the gateway (router address) Start-run-cmd-ping ipaddress.
If you get replies then make sure your LAN is set to automatically assign both IP address and DNS.
If above doesn't fix it then it may be a browser issue or a problem with the routers web interface.
4. If anyone is using a 2.4 GHz cordless phone near a laptop or the router, ask them to hang up.
2.4 GHz cordless phones are assigned the same frequency as the router and will disconnect the router from the Internet. Another great idea from the FCC!
Never call the cable company for assistance with the router while using the 2.4 GHz cordless phone; it will not allow them to re-set the router.
I purchased a 5.8 GHz cordless phone, at Wal-Mart, and solved my problem.
Unplug the electric cord at the router and wait a few minutes.
Plug it back in.
It should re-set itself.
Go to the top left hand corner of the page, to File.
Click on to lower drop down list, scroll down to Work Off Line.
If there is a check mark next to it, click to remove the check mark.
If all of these fail, call the cable company (from a land line) for tech support.
Hope this helps.
