How do I change my remote desktop web connection so that it does not use my router's IP address?
I have a wireless router that I connect to with remote desktop web connection. I type my IP and my port # and it all works fine. The router I have uses a common IP address for the router. How can I change the IP or change settings to allow me to use my true IP address. What if I set up the same setup and port # on my parents network so that when you connect the address would be exactly the same.

1. Uhh - I have no idea what you mean when you say "The router I have uses a common IP address for the router." Generally your router is using your "true" (public) IP address. If it's not, then the router is sub-netted from a router using the public IP address. If you wish for your router to have a public IP, then you either need a second broadband connection, or a second public IP address. If you are asking how to assign your computer the public IP address, then remove the router and connect the output of the broadband modem to your computer. Then enter any PPPoE settings. This would assign your computer the public IP address. It would be a very bad idea, because you could use port forwarding on the router to accomplish the same thing without removing the router.
