How do you change a router IP address?

I have a Motorola SB5120. I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium.

Detailed help is appreciated.

1. I believe that is just the cable modem and not a router, do you have a router behind the cable modem? If not the IP address is controlled by your ISP on the actuall cable modem.

2. sb5120 sounds like a motorolla surfboard cable modem are you sure that you have a router ?

3. By going to its interface. Just to be clear router has to IPs so called LAN (used by your network devices: PCs, hub printer access points etc) and WAM – as visible from Internet. First can be changed at will, second is assigned by ISP and often can be changed too, but how will depend what connection you use (cable, DSl, Fios , what ISP etc) and what hardware you use – if that’s the case repost question adding more details.

While googling SB5120 – it appears to be cable modem not a router. Do you really have router? Modem is entirely different pair of shoes.
