Using two routers in the same room...Do I need to change the router IP address?

I am using two linksys routers which are placed about 10 feet from each other. They are using DIFFERENT internet connections. One is using verizon and one is using cable and the routers are connected to different computers within the house.

My main question is can I leave the IP address on each router at 192.168.1.1 or do I need to change one of them? If they are left the same and I enter the IP address into the browser will it know which to connect to from the password I enter?

Do I have to specifically change the channels on each router to be different or can I leave both routers on automatic and it will pick different channels so they dont interfere?

1. well if they are connected through different computers then it will only see one router..... if they are linked however you would have to change the router ip to 192.168.2.1... but since they are not linked together that shouldnt matter... hope this helps

2. If they are attached to diffirent computers and in essence in does not matter in any way.
If you are using wireless connections on both routers change the ssid from the default Linksys.
You probably do not need to change the channel but it probably would be a good idea - it will be faster.
1 , 6 and 11 are distinct channels the others overlap somewhat .
I would change channel 6 as a matter of basic habit since most routers are set by default at channel 6 and you may have interference from nearby routers.
I would not set the channel to automatic as they migth conflict at some point.
Leave the dhcp on.

3. as long as your routers are on different physical network segments then you can leave your addresses alone. if not then you will have to change the addresses making them different.

4. It would be ok because they are two different domains basically. There's probably several other wireless access points in your area that use the same IP address as well. I my self though would probably change the IP addresses anyways. 192.168.1.1 is a default IP that comes with the access points/routers. Everyone knows this. Keeping that IP address just makes it that much more easier for bad people to use your connection.
