Why do they still design electrical outlets with 2 plugs?

Doesnt make sense as most outlets now require a powerbar to support all the equipment.
My computer plug has a monitor, printer, computer, modem, and router that require an outlet
My TV .. TV, Wii, DVD, Sound system
Adjacent to my bed: Alarm clock, lamp, laptop

Why don't they just design power outlets for multiple plugs now

1. I'm not shure how this is in the US, but i my country (norway) we also have outlets with four plugs. The reason why there's only two, is because the outlet itself is inside the wall in a box with wires running from it to other boxes with other outlets and light switches.
Imagine a 8 or 10 plug outlet, the box would need to be very big and in-practical. And the outlet would look rather ridiculous if it was the size of an A4 sheet.

2. they do make an adapter that you screw into the old socket that has 6 plug ins instead of two you should be able to find one in the electrical section at home depot but you are right home now need a new design that gives you more plug in points why don't you design something ?you might be able to patent it

3. I don't think they are producing two-prong outlets any more, but if you're in an "older" house (pre 1980 or so), you may still have that style.

Hope that helps.

4. What is wrong with power strip?

Or you could install more yourself alongside the current plug.
