How do I allow someone access to my router?
I have a router network set up on my computer. When I use my Kindle, it automatically accesses my router.... no set up was needed. I have a new roommate who wants to access the router, but I don't know how to do this. I have Windows 7. Any info appreciated!

1. When he\she scans on her laptop "find a wireless connection" you will see the name of your router click on it and it will require a password or wepkey the wepkey is on your router
2. Usually routers come with an ip address set to them. something like 192.168 etc
It can usually be found on the router its self along with the login details which often are admin and no password unless of course you changed it. People can only access your router once they're on your network. Once your friend's on, get them to enter the address into a browser and login and they should have access. I would caution against allowing other people to play in your router. If you trust your friend ok but I'd still hover around while he's in there since he has the power do things such as lock particular computers out, open ports and set a firewall.
That should get you access. In the advent you don't have that address:
Go to Command Prompt ---> Run As Administrator ---> Type in ipconfig /all ---> Look under your adapter for gateway ----> The gateway is your routers address
The adapter will either be Local Area Connection or the actually name. E.g I have a USB dongle I plug in for wireless at home. It has Tenda written on it. I would be looking for Tenda in the name if I was looking for it.
That should hopefully solve your problems.
