How do I make my spare router pick up the signal from my router?

I want to connect my Dish to the internet by connecting it to my spare wireless router. How do I make my spare pick up the signal from my normal router so I can connect my dish to it?

1. Generally, most consumer wireless routers are only able to act as an access point (other devices like laptops can connect to them, they don't make a wireless connection to another access point). You may be lucky and actually have one which can be setup as a client or bridge, but it's somewhat unlikely.

It sounds like what you are trying to do would require a wireless bridge (or some device for wireless mesh networking which acts as an AP and a client), or would have to have a router which is capable of accepting third party firmware (OpenWRT, dd-wrt, tomato, etc.). Then load one on there and configure it as a wireless client or bridge device.

Otherwise you're looking at a physical connection.
