1. It would be completely hardwired2. There is no way that you can guarantee to not have a disruption of service exceeding 1 minute. That just isn't in your hands.
As for the network, I would use a hard wired network rather than a wired one just for the security that a hard wired network offers over a wireless one and that being in order to access the network someone would have to physically connect to the network whereas a wireless network is accessible anywhere within the range of the router. Correct ID and password and your network is open to the world without the hacker even entering the premises.
