how you would design this home network?

1. Suppose you are running a home business and want a very reliable Internet connection (say, you have 4 computers and you don’t want a disruption of more than 1 minute). Explain how you would design this home network. (hint, consider the following potential failures: your Internet Service Provider (ISP), your router)

Public Comments

1. It would be completely hardwired

2. There is no way that you can guarantee to not have a disruption of service exceeding 1 minute. That just isn't in your hands.

As for the network, I would use a hard wired network rather than a wired one just for the security that a hard wired network offers over a wireless one and that being in order to access the network someone would have to physically connect to the network whereas a wireless network is accessible anywhere within the range of the router. Correct ID and password and your network is open to the world without the hacker even entering the premises.
