How to change my Dlink Router IP address?

I'm trying to set up ICS (internet connection sharing) on my windows XP laptop, but every time I do i get a Ip address conflict error. i found out that my router has the same Ip address that ICS needs so i'm now wondering if I should change my router IP address (How would that be done?) or, if it is possible, change the Ip address that ICS needs. Thanks!

1. If you have a router, then why are you trying to do internet connection sharing?

To change the dlink IP address:

Open a browser.
enter 192.168.0.1 in the address bar and press enter
Log in
click setup
click network settings on the left side bar
Your routers IP address will be in the first box. it MUST start with 192.168 but the third quad can be from 0 to 255. The forth quad is usually 1 as the router is almost always the .1 address.

2. You will have to log into the router and change the settings. Check the bottom of the router for the default ip address, user name, and password. If they have been changed then you may need to reset the router to factory defaults.

Once you are logged in, change the local LAN ip address.
