What router should I get to cover a whole apartment building?
Hi, later this fall I will be setting up a wireless system for the apartment building and hopefully going to be making some money doing so. I need to find the right router to cover 8-11 potential apartments with 2-3 users per apartment. I am currently running the fastest internet windstream has, 12mbps if i remember right, but need to get a fast and reliable router with good range. Any suggestions?

1. There really is no router that will do what you want. You will need multiple access points networked to the router. You might be able to set up a wireless mesh network, but Internet speed will be very low.
2. Since range is your primary concern, you may want to look at a router that can be flashed with WRT firmware. Essentially WRT will boost your router's range considerably. Whether it will cover your whole building is another question, but this gives you a good chance to maximize your router's range.
There are a number of routers for which this can be done:

3. 12M/1M service split up to 33 ways is going to be painfully slow.
4. Wireless router is not the correct choice.

Install a wired router to the apartment building.
- Install a [wired or wireless] router in each apartment.
- You will need AT LEAST to install a wireless router in each apartment.
5. You can get any cheap router that is not wireless then buy a wifi transmitter from Ubiquity eg NanoStation 5 and put it outside the building facing the building
