What do I input to access my router's control menu?

I have input my Gateway default address into my address bar, but its coming up with a window asking for an access name and password with a little key on it. I dont know what to put in? Do I use the name of my internet connection? Or do I input the ip adress, and what is the password? Is it written on the router?

Public Comments

1. It will be the user name and password given in the router manual.

2. you may have to contact your I P provider

3. go to the start menu - click run, type "cmd"

in the black window, type "ipconfig"

it will show you a number like... 192.168.x.x

(x's are numbers)

open a browser (internet explorer or mozilla firefox) - and type in the address bar what you saw up above - except ending in a "1"

so...if its 192.168.0.10 in the black window, you'll type 192.168.0.1

if its 192.168.1.99 then type 192.168.1.1

now, if you have a linksys router, the username/password is [blank] and "admin"

if its anything else, try "admin" and "password"
