How can I get internet access from another wireless router?

I have two linksys routers. How can I get internet access on router A (over wifi) from router B?

Note: router A will not have any computers connecting to it through wifi.

1. From what I know there is no way for a router to pick up a wireless signal and send it elsewhere. Of course you can always use a wired connection. Also, even if there was a way, I would suggest not to do that since first wireless signals can get disrupted. And having it go through two places before it reaches its destination gives it more room for error.

Best bet IMO would be to use a wired Ethernet to connect the routers together. Or just directly connect to router A.

2. If I understand correctly, what you are looking for is what's called a wireless bridge. i.e. Router A has an internet connection coming into it, and it broadcasts a wireless signal. Then, router B connects to this wireless signal and shares the internet connection with devices wire into it.

Unfortunately, Linksys routers do not offer this functionality by default. Instead, Linksys offers specific wireless bridge products to solve this problem.

One resource that may help you though is call DD-WRT. This is a custom firmware developed by a third party for certain routers (it was originally designed for the Linksys WRT54G series, but works on many others). This does have a feature built into it for using your linksys router as a wireless bridge. For details, go to http://www.dd-wrt.com

3. It depends on the model of the routers that you have. Most commercial grade routers have a selection between BRIDGE and ROUTER modes.
If you set one to Bridge mode it only acts like a wireless repeater so to speak. Your Linksys routers may or may not have the option to do this. Give the model number and I'll be happy to check for you.

4. set one router as bridge and configure to pick up the wifi signal from the other.
As far as I know, these repeaters can be installed floor by floor inside a big building with single internet connection
