1. There is usually a reset button that will, if held down long enough, reset the router to factory defaults.
The specifics depend on the model of router though.
2. Reset the router by holding the reset button for about 10 seconds, then do the setup all over again and write down the new key.
3. Normally, the manufacturer puts a reset button somewhere to reset the router to default configuration and that includes the username and password.
4. At this point you better use a paperclip to physically reset the router (there is a small pinhole on the back or bottom somewhere). Hold the little pinhole button down for 20 seconds for good measure. That will reset it to how it was when you bought it. You will have to redo all of your settings, but take this chance to make it much more secure since it seems like someone hacked your router and put their own settings on it.
5. Try to reinstall it. If it is a linksys (i have it) , then download the easylink advisor. Then click on the router and click on details to look up you security information.
6. Reset it usually a button on the back, or go to the manufacturers website if he hasn't changed the user name and password , they usually have a default user name and password..
7. I think you could reset it
8. Reset the router and re-configure it search on Google/Yahoo for instruction on how to reset the router. Make sure you change the Admin Password as soon as you re-configure it - this prevents malicious people from sending a script to the unprotected router which writes in gobbly-goop. This scripting either disables the router or reduces it's functionality thus slowing it down considerably.
Good luck
