Can I block my ip address from a router?

Is it possible to make it so a router that my desktop computer is wirelessly connected to cannot see my ip address? If so, how? Also how can you rename your PC? I want to rename my desktop PC. Thanks.

1. Step 1 Create an access-list on your Internet router or firewall, that permits all safe addresses and denies the addresses you have deemed unsafe. For example, type "access-list 101 deny 25.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 any" on a Cisco router.

Step 2Apply the inbound access-list to the outside interface of your router or firewall. For example, type "ip address-group 101 in" on a Cisco router.

Step 3 Review the access-list hits using the command "show access-list" on a Cisco router. Fine tune your access-list to more specific subnets if you continue to see high amounts of traffic from suspicious addresses.

2. 1. No, that's impossible. Your router (switch combo) has to have your IP address in order for data to to be sent to it. Imagine a old, faithful mailman being told that he has to deliver packages to a house whose address is a secret. As you can imagine, he'd probably be both confused and upset. Because he couldn't comply with the bizarre request, he was fired and his family went on welfare and food stamps for months until he found a stable job at MegaPost, Inc where he started out at an entry level making 9 dollars an hour. Of course, his earlier job afforded him a decent salary, health care and pension. It's a pity to imagine.

2. You can rename your computer in Windows XP the following way (I don't know what the process is for Vista and 7):
1. Right Click "My Computer" and then select "Properties"
2. Tab over to "Computer Name"
3. Change the name?
4. Hit apply, and okay
5. You're never going to end up looking at this answer, are you
