What is the best wireless router to get to use with a PS3 with a DSL connection? I have read tons of reviews and not one router is without negative reviews. I've checked out Linksys, Belkin, D-link, and a few others' latest offerings, and someone has got a gripe about every one of them. I just want to wirelessly connect my PS3, and later on, a notebook computer to my internet connection. Thanks for any advice! Answer #1: Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. Does anyone else have a different suggestion or agree with this one?
I bought Linksys Wireless-N router today in a crunch (old router died). I've since read bad reviews. You say? So far, I've read "poor" reviews from PC Magazine, TechWeb, PC World and PriceGrabber. I read a few good user reviews at a few sites (here on Yahoo! Shopping and I can't recall where else.). I read a "good' (editor's) review on CNet, but the reviewer still said the wireless speed was mediocre (even more so for a Draft N router). I bought this router in desperation. My old (formally) reliable D-Link Ethernet router suddenly died so I raced out to get a new one. I was impressed by this Linksys based on the hype on the package and what I'd read in ads previously. I'm planning to get a laptop in the next 12 months, so the wireless will then be handy (I have no use for it now). As 95% of the routers at this store (Circuit City) carried were Wireless, I figured I might as well go for the best. Now I'm afraid I paid twice as much as I needed to at this point in time. Has *anyone* had at least "good" experience with the wireless capabilities of this router?
What is a reliable wireless router brand to get? I just got Grande cable and I was thinking about either getting a wireless modem or just renting their modem and getting a wireless router. Either way i want to make sure whatever I do everything is compatible. I really want to know what brand I should get. I have been looking at reviews and for every brand they are either the best or the worst. Its confusing.

Which wireless router would work better? What wireless router brand to you recommend? I lost the CD and instruction on how to secure my router. wjat is a good and cheap wireless router? Hi, I've recently dived into the world of wireless routers as my university dorm room for the summer has only one ethernet port (!?!?!?!?!?). I've started looking at different cheap ($30-$50) routers on web order websites such as newegg and NCIX but most of the low-end routers has mixed reviews: some say its heavenly while others say its a piece of crap. What I've gathered so far is that I Don't want a Draft N because it's not very unreliable and I don't have anything that can use it to its full potential without upgrading, I might be wrong though The devices I need internet for are: 1) A desktop (wired ---for torrenting/web browsing <---it's OK for torrent, I'm in Canada :D) 2) An Xbox360 (wired or wireless -- I play online quite a bit so prefer a stable connection with minimum drops) -->Optional: A Laptop and Ipod touch (not one of my priorities but prefer to have them connected, hence wanting a wireless router) As far as I know, my school has a T3 connection and to my understanding(please correct me if im wrong), I can use any wireless router as a wired splitter and it would all have the same speed. So I would just like some suggestions of models of routers that are: 1) In the range of $30-$50 CAD<---almost same as USD at this range(but willing to go maybe $60 if it is really, really, really, ridiculously awesome) 2) Still available for purchase (in stores preferably --I will most likely get it from a NCIX store) 3) Are reliable/has a good rating and has pretty good wireless capabilities. -------->or should i just get a splitter for $14 and forgo all this trouble? Thanks in advance!
Whats the Best wireless router? what is the best wireless routers available to buy? i hear a lot of mixed reviews on linksys, some people say its the best. some say its terrible and drops the connection randomly.. whats the best out there?
Will my wireless router work with any wireless adapter? I have the netgear wireless g router (model wgr614). My desktop (computer A, Win 7) is directly connected to a modem and this router. My laptop (also Win 7) is receiving the wireless signal too. The modem is 4 years old, but I guess it does the job. Not sure if changing it will do much. Anyhow, I want to connect another desktop (compuer B with Win XP to the network) and I need a wireless USB adapter. Will any adapter work? Any guidelines to go by when matching router, PC, and USB adapter? I read reviews on the netgear wireless g adapter and they are awful. i wanted to try and buy something else? Should I upgrade my modem?

Wireless Router - Belkin Wireless Pre-N router (Using without MIMO adapter?)? Hi, I am debating on purchasing a Belkin Wireless Pre-N router as I have read good reviews. My question is will I still see increased performance from this router using my orginal wirelesss adapter and not purchasing the MIMO one?

I've been looking on Amazon for a cheap wireless Router, but i dont really no how i can tell if it is good or not. i just read the reviews, can anyone reccomend an under £20 wireless router that will be strong enough to send through the roof of downstairs, and still have a good signal?
Need recommendations for a wireless router...? I currently have a D-Link Wireless Router and have had it for a couple of months. Within the last couple of weeks, it has started to act weird. When I sign on to my laptop, it will not connect to the internet until I reset the router because it has "limited activity". I have gone back and read reviews of people having the same problem. So, I'm looking for a new router. I know Linksys has gotten really good reviews, but are there any others under $100? Thanks.
D-Link RangeBooster G Wireless Router? Hey everybody, quick product quality question. Does anybody know if the "D-Link RangeBooster G Wireless Router" is any good? I'm trying to get a second wireless network set up in my home and am wondering if it's a good product? I've never had any experience with D-Link products but am looking into them. I can figure out how to set up the network and everything, but need to know if it's worth my time buying the router. I really appreciate all reviews. Thanks so much all!! @ 'help plz' -- Thanks for your help! You get the 10 points as soon as I can choose a best answer. Thanks again.
Whats the best wireless router I can get?? Okay here's my story. I have a two story house, two laptops, a desktop PC and my son has Xbox live. I recently bought the Linksys wireless-g router with speed boost and that didn't work. If any of the laptops were on, the other wouldn't work and my son's Xbox live would lag. I was thinking about exchanging it for the Linsys wireless-N broadband router but then I read the reviews and they were horrible. I need something of that sort but something that isn't known for being unreliable and dying.
How can I make my Modem/Router prioritize devices for internet speed? I have this router: http://reviews.cnet.com/routers/belkin-n-wireless-router/4505-3319_7-33361760.html?tag=rnav
Best wireless router? Ok, so i need to buy a wireless router by the 28th, but im getting mixed reviews on every site i go to. Some people rant and rave about how their router is the best while farther down another one says how they can't get a signal on it. Does anybody know what is the best router brand to get? Belkin? Netgear? Linksys? If anybody can point me to a couple good routers that have worked for them, I would be eternally grateful. BTW, I have a laptop aswell so i need a router with a strong wireless signal and a pretty decent downloading speed.
How do I make a PCI slot on my desktop to install Linksys Wireless G PCI Adapter? Trying to set up a wireless router. I was told to buy a USB Adapter (Linksys) but reviews show that it disconnects quite often. I purchased the PCI Adapter but I don't have a slot for it - can this be made? Sorry so confusing, any help would be appreciated!
What wireless modem and/or router is best to use with a Tivo 2 DT and AT&T Fast Access DSL 6.0? I have a Tivo 2 DT and I just signed up for the AT&T Fast Access DSL. I want to go wireless with both. My devices are all clear across the house from my phone jacks, so that is not an option, unless I run 100 foot of phone wire across my ceiling. I looked up the Instajacks and the like, and they didn't get very good reviews. AT&T offers a free modem and wireless router, but that sounds like it is crap too. I would like to know, if there is one wireless router and/or modem, that is better for what I need it for, than another? The Tivo site and the AT&T site, of course, want and suggest that you buy the devices from them, but does it really matter? And if it does, why? If I understand it correctly, the router doesn't matter, as long as you have the adapter for that device. Like I have to have the Tivo adapter from Tivo and the DSL adapter from AT&T, right? I have always had cable. I know nothing about this wireless stuff.LOL I would appreciate any comments or advice. Thank you.
Wireless Router Buying Help!!!? I have been thinking about buying a wireless router to use when I am home from college. I have spent the past few weeks researching different brands and types, and I still have no idea what to get. I want one that is reliable, but every router I look at has just as many 1 star reviews as 5 star reviews. Any tips???
Wireless Router (Motorola SBG900) optimum/recommended settings? I recently bought Motorola SBG900 broadband wireless router. But I'm not getting as good speed as I used to get with the leased NetLink router. The reason I bought Motorola is the reviews which suggested it outperformed even the popular brand Linksys. Ok, back to the point. Could somebody please suggest me the optimum/recommended settings for this wireless routers. For the record I have the Wireless channel -11, WEP enabled, firewall disabled, NAT enabled, DHCP-lease enabled for my wireless adapter. It works blazing fast when I reboot but soon resumes to slow speed within 5-6 mins. I also experienced connection drops with utorrents lately. Even the Starbucks non-secure wireless down the block appears better than my speed. Please Help !!! Thanks for the response guys. I find that I get a good speed (6421 Kbps) when I hook up the ethernet cable to my laptop. But when I'm on wifi I get significantly lower speed (1646 Kbps). [Speed Test from dslreports.com]. So there must something wrong with my wifi configuration part. Isn't it? Any btw Chris I hope that cancels out throttling possiblity. Jacob, I also tried modifying MTU setting but I didn't see any significant improvement. Any more suggestions. Please help me out. I don't want to sit in the corner of my hall to get good speed.

I need a good wireless router, what do you guys recommend? I need a better router with great wireless range, also with fast speeds. I have been looking at D-Link routers, Netgear routers, and Linksys routers. I need a good router for my wireless laptop, PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360. I was considering getting another Linksys router, but according to reviews they are not all that great. Should I go with a wireless N, would this work with my game consoles and my laptop that's about a year old.
Can I use a wireless router as a wireless network adapter? im looking into getting a new computer and there is no option to put in a wireless card. so i figured it would be cheaper to get a wireless adapter, i was wrong. after some research i found that a good network adapter is expensive and hard to come by because of all the mixed reviews, while a good router is cheaper. so i was just wondering if i had to throw down the money on an adapter or save some buy getting a router. suggestions would be nice too. by the way, i already have a wireless router, just need to know if i can connect to it using another wireless router
Best Wireless Router? (Gigabit, Wireless-N, USB Port and Dual-Band)? I'm looking for a new Wireless Router I'm trying to buy one that has gigabit ethernet ports, a usb port for network storage, and it has to be a Wireless N with dual-band functionality. I've looked at many reviews, but I couldn't find a great router (all the routers had many bad reviews). I would like a router that doesn't slow down after 2 hours of use, and one that provides good signal for good range. I've been leaning towards the Linksys E3000, but it looks like it has many flaws to it. Can you guys tell me which wireless router you would recommend? (Hopefully not too expensive) Thanks

What's the best wireless router with bandwidth control (QoS) for a reasonable price? http://www.maximumpc.com/article/reviews/trendnet_tew652brp I was looking at this one, but apparently it's QoS is not good. What's the best bang for your buck router w/QoS ? Yes, I will google it, just if you know, that's all. Thank you.
What's the best wireless router for range? Is there a specific stat I should look at to do with range? I've got a Linksys WRT160N and it absolutely sucks, my old Linksys WTGRN was way better. Is there a good website for in depth reviews? or do any of you know a really good router with really good range?
Is there a router (wireless/wired) that will report the websites which connected peers visit? Is there a router manufacturer that anybody knows of that makes a router which allows administrators to review a list a URL which have been visited by any connected peers on the network?
Which Wireless Router Should I Buy!!? I have an iMac (10.5.8) and I need to connect an XBox360 but I'll need to go wireless because the XBox360 is in the other room. I've narrowed it down to the following 4 models and am looking for opinions from those that either use these models, have used them, or are knowledgeable about wireless networking. The first I'm looking at is the Vizio XWR100. It's a dual band wireless router and it's only $80. The only downside is it doesn't support gigabit ehternet. The second I'm looking at is the D-Link DIR-825. It is simultaneous dual band and seems to be able to work with both Windows and Mac. I've heard mixed reviews about D-Link routers, but it's only about $120. The 3rd is the Linksys E3000. It's newer, available locally, dual band, and seems to get pretty good reviews. The only knock on it is that it has limited guest networking. It's also going to run at least $150. The 4th is the Airport Extreme. It's also dual band with good guest networking. It gets excellent reviews for Macs, but mixed reviews for XBox360. Since I have a Mac, it should be the easiest to setup and manage, but I'd hate to get it if it doesn't work well with the XBox360. It is also the most expensive at $180. Please help! I have a new XBox360 that I'm dying to play online and need to get one of these routers first! Thanks!
Is it worth it to buy a Wireless N router? I have around 8-10 wireless devices all in a decent sized house (around 2,000-2,500sq-ft). Currently they're all connecting through an old D-Link 524 wireless router I bought close to 5 years ago. I keep the router in my office on the right side of the house while most of my wireless device are connected on the other side. As a result of the distance and the number of devices accessing the router, connecting has really become terrible over the past several years, I'm currently getting a speed of 0.32mbps up/.81mbps down in a room right above the router and I barely get a decent connection at times on my PS3 & 360 on the other side of the house. Things like streaming HD videos and online gaming have really become bothersome, requiring me to reset the router at times. After researching the problem I've decided the best action would be to upgrade my router setup to a Belkin N+ router. Thing is, NONE of my devices are Wireless N capable so I wouldn't get the wireless N speeds. So would it be worth it to buy the Belkin N+ or any wireless router? I'm fully aware that I won't get the 300mb/s wireless N companies advertise and I'm fine with it as long as a get SOME kind of increase in speed from the .81mp/s I currently get, an increase in range, and a router that could handle the amount of devices I have. I've read some reviews in which people have stated wireless N routers gave them reception in places they didn't while using old b/g routers. The Belkin N+ is advertised as having a 300-400ft. range. If I upgrade would I get some kind of increase in range and network speed even if I don't use the wireless N mode? So I wouldn't get any extension of range with a wireless N router unless I had wireless N devices??? I was under the impression that wireless N routers use more/stronger antennas (the Belkin N+ supposedly has 4) and since they can run in G mode as well as N I would get the benefits of the stronger antenna even if I wasn't operating in wireless N mode. Also, moving the router from it's current location isn't an option anytime in the near future. There would be too much exposed wiring for me to do so just because of the way my house is built. Appreciate the suggestions though.
Best Wireless broadband router? I have a broadband/cable connection I need wireless n I need less dropouts I have tried searching but all reviews of routers seem to suck now. Any brand and any price.
What can a wireless router do for me? Ive read the reviews on the one I am interested in, and there are people claiming it hooked up to their bluray, tvs, etc. what would that mean? haha. Thanks I was loking in the first place to connect my high speed so I can go wireless around the house. But if I can connect other things somehow.....that would be neat. And hmmm....could I stream my netflix that way as well?
Wireless Router Question? okay so i'm planning on buying a wireless router today, but i don't which one i should get. right now i'm currently stuck between Linksys and Belkin. I've read many reviews on both but they're all the same. Which one is better?
Wireless router reviews? What is blog for wireless router reviews ?
what qualities are needed in a wireless router? I need to be informed about the qualities in a wireless router, I need to know what to look out for when purchasing one. Im sort of a newbie and I'm looking for a router for the household. One for multiple devices, (laptops, gaming, TV) and something not that expensive but not "cheap". Im hearing mixed reviews for certain brands...? Is it a good idea to buy off of ebay? If so, what do I look out for? Thanks!
Wireless router problems? My wireless router works fine. Haven't had a problem in the 5 years we've had it. However, it is in the basement on the opposite side of the house as my 2nd floor bedroom. Therefore, I get horrible service in my room because the router is so far away. How can I improve my range? I was looking into range extenders but a lot of them got bad reviews. Should I get another wireless router? I need a simple and affordable solution. Thanks It would be a big job to move the router considering where it is now is where all the wiring enters the house and thats where the desktop is
