How come my router IP address password changed? I need to get onto my router's IP address in order to forward ports so I can open my NAT for xbox live. I did this about a month ago and it worked fine. I typed in 192.168.1.1 in my browser's address bar and typed in the default name and password admin and admin, but everytime I try they fail.

How Can I Find My Router IP address at work? Hi, we just had a new modem router Netgear DG834G installed at work. This is the same as my home one so am well aware of ow it works. Funny thing is I used to be able to access our OLD router on explorer via 10.0.0.3 but doesn't work on the new router. I have tried netgear's default 192.168.0.1 It's not that either. So went on a site that scans your network (10 pc's and 3 network printers). It gave the IP address for all the pc's and printers but not the router. It's as though it is hidden. I am experienced were networking is concerned and IPCONFIG/ALL does not give the router address, only the ip address of our server. The IP address is 10.0.0.201 and found it easy. The router icon was simply located in my network places. It is not set up as a DCHP server as all our pc's have static routing. I need to access the router as I am the one who re-boots it if our internet is not working and also makes a back up of the settings. Still can't understand why our internet is slow, even with 1 pc online and have checked the speed which is about 5.5mbps. Thanks to you all anyway

ip address opens modem page instead of router? My network setup at home consists of a router for the mainfloor and another router for the basement the cable modem is connected to router on the mainfloor. There is a network cable in a room that connects to the router in the basement. Typing 192.168.0.1 takes me to the cable modem homepage and not the router page. It seems like the router IP is being overridden somehow by the cable modem.
